Croft House, Berrier (Sleeps 8)

Croft House is a traditional Lakeland ‘Cross-Passage’ farmhouse,dating back to the 17th century.It is a grade two listed building.The ‘Cross-passage’ refers to the days when it separated the animals from the rest of the house ­ in those days,everything lived under the same roof,the animals providing heat for the rest of the house!.Nowadays,the animals live separately….

The four bedroomed house is full of traditional features,including large stone fireplaces,walls and lots of oak beams.The accommodation comprises of two double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms.One of the bedrooms is ground floor.

There is a large living room,complete with gallery library and in addition,a smaller sitting room.

There is a large,well equipped kitchen which doubles as the dining area.There is also a drying room.

Heating is by full oil central heating which is set on a timer(extended heating times by arrangement) + Woodburning stove in the main living room where initial supply of hardwood logs are provided.

Electricity(metered) is paid for at the end of your stay.

Outside there is ample parking for four cars and the house has it’s own large lawned garden.

Apart from lambing-time, we have fields in which you can walk your dog, including some by arrangement, without a lead. There is a lovely walk to nearby Naddles Crags.

As with Cruck Barn the views from the property are superb with Lakeland Fells,just over the fields,to the south and west.Just a mile or so away is the iconic Blencathra and sharp-edge.
