RS Gyroplanes are proud to be the appointed representative for the ELA series of gyroplanes for both the United Kingdom and Ireland. The current model, the ELA 0-7 is a superb example of brilliant design and well-proven engineering. Geometrically it closely resembles our other favbourite, the VPM Ml 6 and is therefore suberbly stable and very easy to fly. The choice of engine is either 912s or 914-The frame is made entirely of stainless steel whilst the pod and tailplane is of carbon fibre construction for both lightness and strength. The rotor is also composite with a well-proven aerofoil section producing lots of lift. The blade is also of high momentum, therefore retaining rotor speed over a wide spectrum of the flight envelope. The aircraft has a maximum take off weight of 450 KG,making it very easy to insure for both aircraft and passengers.

The ELA has recently gained full type certification in Spain as a factory-built ultralight gyroplane and the UK CAA have just announced that it is prepared to accept the ELA 0-7 on a 'National Approval' basis, which means that, subject to discussions with the Spanish DGAC(CAA),the CAA hope to be able to approve the ELA for flight here in the UK...
