North West Gyroplane Club

North West Gyroplane Club

North West Gyroplane Club, founded by Roger in 1995 ,encourages all forms of autogyro aviating - both single and twin seat. It's easy to forget ,in these days of ready-made,factory-built twin seaters, that the origins of UK autogyro flying belong to Bensen-based single seaters and whilst it's all very nice to go out(with a very fat wallet) and buy a modern highly efficient,going-places machine,it's still equally great to see - and fly for one's self perhaps - a single seater, even in it's most basic form.
Wing Commander Ken Wallis, who undoubtedly has done more to promote gyroplane(or Autogyro as he much prefers to call them) aviation in this country and beyond, than anyone else over many years, has just kindly written a 3xpage article - specially for RS Gyroplanes - of some of his flying exploits and his own machines and particularly in support of single-seat autogyros -and this will appear under the 'News' section of the site, very shortly.Ken really ts a 'National Treasure' and we are very grateful to him.
NWGC is now based at Roger's home strip at Berrier, which is situated between Penrith and Keswick in the Lake District.

ELA

ELA

Gyroplane flying in Spain is an absolutely fabulous experience - particularly in the sparsly populated yet beautiful surroundings of the Cordoba region which is base for the ELA Aviacion factory at Fuente Obejuna, some 100 kilometers west of Cordoba.ELA have just opening a brand new multi-million Euro factory, together with a newly-laid 800metre tamac strip right outside the factory - so the facilities are absolutely fantastic. The nearby town of Fuente Obejuna is 'proper' Spanish, plenty of bars and restaurants - all reasonably priced in a typical historic Adalucian town.Anyone wishing to have a demonstration flight can come to RS Gyroplanes' own strip at Berrier, just minutes off junction 40 of the M6 at Penrith in Cumbria - or we would be delighted to arrange some flying for you,in almost guaranteed sunshine, from ELA's own airstrip at Fuente Obejuna - or both!!.Just give us a call on (017684)83859 or 07836 272033.
*ELA UK CAA approval process now well advanced - watch this space!!*
