Members of the NWGC visit ELA in Spain,way back in 2005.Several members went on to buy an ELA,only to be disappointed when despite many promises from the factory over the subsequent years,ELA failed to gain UK BCAR section T approval and this is still the case in late 2011.
In the meantime the UK market has been flooded by the popular German MT series of gyroplanes which included the MT03,MT Sport,Calidus all of which have UK approval,as does the Magni M16c and Magni M24 twin seat fully enclosed model.....
Now Auto-Gyro of Germany are about to launch their 4th generation gyroplane in the UK,the fully enclosed,side by side and very futuristic 'Cavalon' model,which is scheduled for UK approval in 2012.
Sadly and by contrast,there are still some ELAs languishing in sheds and hangars in the UK,even after five or six years,unable to be flown and difficult to sell - and still with no real sign of ever being approved in the UK.
