In mid-summer, aviation magazine 'Today's Pilot' also did a centre spread feature on our flight training school at Carlisle. Virgin Airways 747 captain Jerry West fulfilled a lifelong ambition in converting to the autogyro and in just over three days he completed his twin seat training and comprehensively soloed on the club open frame Bensen B8. Quite a change from a Jumbo Jet and guess what! - Jerry has already ordered his own Gyroplane!
